I merely smiled indulgently when Ironflower began asking for "real" jewelery. . .at the age of two.
I love that she has definite fashion ideas.
I think her desire to stay in a hotel - she LOVES travel - is cute.
But today when I told her to get up from nap (hot sun + lots of running games + long playdate = even Ironflower sleeping at naptime) I discovered that I may have run into a teensy, weensy, problem.
She didn't want to get up, that much was clear. I had moved from casual cajoling to ordering her to get up when she said, "I'll get up if you give me some pretend money."
"How much?" I asked, my curiosity covering my giggle.
"Two dollars," she replied authoritatively. So I paid her. And she got up.
How long do you think I have before she starts asking for real money? And how did a three and a half year old, used to being rewarded for cleaning up with a chocolate kiss, go from that to extortion?

I think its a girl thing. My daughter pats her daddy's pockets when he comes home from work and demands all the change out of them. Last night she walked in to my bedroom and asked for some money for no reason at all. GIRLS ARE GREEDY.
YIKES. Oh, Jersey Girl, you poor baby.
I think you are in trouble hon. And, being your only girl? EEk.
ooohhh wheee! you got a smart one there! you better watch out! :)
You don't have long, my friend. At least she's only asking for two dollars. It could've been two hundred...although I guarantee that's coming, too.
