I went to the movies today. With women from my book club. It's like I have a social life, people. We saw The Other Boleyn Girl, which was a great movie if you didn't read the book or you don't know any of the actual history. It's beautifully shot and the costumes are amazing. The story would have been great if it wasn't supposed to be based on any kind of reality. Eric Bana IS hot, though.
Tonight I have read EVERY SINGLE POST in my Google Reader. (I didn't comment on all of them, though. I'm not that cool.)
Six years ago this would have been a boring day but right now I feel like rock star.
Lovebug and Ironflower are with their fantastic grandparents and I feel SO COOL (okay, that might also have come from the chocolate martini I had).

You have to tell me what was off. I didn't read it, and I don't plan to see it as I hate Henry, love poor jilted Catherine & despise the whole Boleyn clan.
You are a rock star! I'm pretty good at reading the blogs in my reader, but commenting on everything? Yeah. It doesn't happen for me either, except for a the few I'm completely faithful to.
Definitely a rock start in my book!!! Sorry I missed the meeting. I missed the memo and went to the earlier showing :(

Good for you!
I read the book a few summers ago...is the movie not as good?
A chocolate martini sounds sooo good right now!
A movie AND a chocolate martini? I think I'm going to adopt you as my new role model!
Rock on! Isn't it funny how time and perspective change things?
I thought the exact same thing about the movie. The costumes were yummy. I would love to parade around in all that velvet squeezed around my middle...although it is curious how they always look spotless even when walking through slop and mud. I also thought the Star Wars chick was a little hard to watch in that roll. She was a bit over the top. But overall, fun to watch...I just scratch my head at some of the details they altered!
eric bana isn't bad...clive owens is my new crush, at the moment!
you're so lucky...going out with a friend...i wouldn't know what to do with myself!!
have a great day!
I, too, saw the movie this weekend, and absolutely hated it! I loved the book (
in spite of it's historical iffy-ness, it was still a good yarn), but I'm a history geek and the vapid falsifying of facts in the film made me want to stand up after the credits rolled and tell everyone in that theater what the real story was! Geek.
LunaNik - And now I'm behind again!
AFF - Definitely don't see this movie, then, they make Catherine look kinda bitchy and Anne very sympathetic.
Leslie - I try, but it's so hard except for ones like yours that I read every day.
Mary Kate - Oh no! I'm sorry - we missed you, too. But we've decided we should try it more often so maybe next time?
Life - The movie just changes a lot of things from the book and makes it all much less complex and historically accurate.
Mama Zen - Well, think carefully, adoption is a big step and the last time I'd had a martini before last night was. . .um. ..2003.
HRH - I liked the best, actually - at least her facial expressions changed!
Melbs1969 - It was weird, but in a really good way.
kristjana - I totally get what you mean - I wanted to yell, "Read Alison Weir for the truth!"
Amazing what now qualifies as a great night, isn't it?
I could never leave comments on all the blogs I read in a day.... No way!
I knew you'd fall for Eric Bana after this movie. (Munich is what did it for me, canceling out The Hulk experience...yick.)
It was such a lovely day, but as soon as I saw the time at the end of our lunch, I felt like Cinderella running around in one shoe looking for a pumpkin and mice! I didn't get too many dirty looks once I got home.
Can't wait til next time, but now I am going to have a LARGE glass of wine with dinner :( sniff, sniff
hee hee hope the drink was yummy..lmao.
I love your Rock Star day. I too saw the movie this weekend and was so disappointed. The movies are just never as good as the books. But I DIDN'T have a chocolate martini and I'm very jealous. Now THAT'S the perfect end to a perfect day! Rock on!
