Fun Monday!

fun_monday_2.png

I've never done Fun Monday before, but Anglophile Football Fan's song was SO good that I had to participate. The task was to find ONE song that describes you. One song that people hear and think of you. One song that always makes you smile. If you want to play (or just check out other people's songs), head over to ooh, a shiny pen.

For those of you who grew up around New York, the fact that this was recorded on Wonderama should seem especially cool. For those of you who didn't, Wonderama aired on Sunday mornings in the 70's and 80's. It was sort of like a kid's variety show. This show may very well have been what started my Abba obsession (although my dad liked them too, that also had influence).

What's your favorite Abba song?

My fave Abba song is Waterloo. It's so ridiculous.

OMG- I love ABBA! Ever since the first time I saw Priscilla- Queen of the Desert. :)

Funny thing, the only other person IRL that I know who loves ABBA is my father in law.

OMG! Wonderama!!! I was beginning to think that show was a figment of my imagination. I grew up in NY, but now live down south. No one's ever heard of Wonderama down here!

My song would either be Dancing Queen or Rhinestone Cowboy (which my brother and I made up a song and dance to and embarrassingly performed for my entire extended family).

Oh, I loooove Abba! My favorite song? Knowing Me, Knowing You.

When I was in college, we always had a sort of variety show during alumni weekend. One fraternity always did some sort of thing that involved the President of the college joining in and doing something really silly. One year, he dressed in drag and they acted out this love story to Fernando. It was hilarious and I always think of it when I hear that song.
